【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoversuntreatedandheat-treatedcarbonandalloysteelforgingsforgeneralindustrialuse.OtherASTMspecificationsforforgingsareavailableforspecificapplicationssuchaspressurevessels,railroaduse,turbinegenerators,gearing,andothersinvolvingspecialtemperaturerequirements.Hot-rolledorcoldfinishedbarsarenotwithinthescopeofthisspecification.Sixclassesofcarbonsteelandsevenclassesofalloysteelforgingsarelisted(seeSection7),whichindicatestheirrequiredheattreatments,aswellasmechanicalproperties.Supplementaryrequirementsofanoptionalnatureareprovided.Theseshallapplyonlywhenspecifiedbythepurchaser.AppendixX1liststhegradescorrespondingtothevariousgradesofSpecificationsA235,A237,andA243whichhavebeensupersededbythisspecification.Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasthestandard;withinthetextandtables,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactlyequivalent;therefore;eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.
