【摘要】:Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationoftheamountofconstituentsinpetroleumproductssuchaslubricants,additives,andtransmissionfluidsthatwillsaponifyundertheconditionsofthetest.Note1-StatementsdefiningthistestanditssignificancewhenappliedtoelectricalinsulatingoilsofmineraloriginwillbefoundinGuideD117.Experiencehasshownthatfortransformeroils,TestMethodD94,modifiedbyuseof0.1MKOHsolutionand0.1MHCl,ismoresuitable.Twotestmethodsaredescribed:MethodA-ColorIndicatorTitration(Sections6-13),andMethodB-PotentiometricTitration(Sections14-23).Becausecompoundsofsulfur,phosphorus,thehalogens,andcertainotherelementsthataresometimesaddedtopetroleumproductsalsoconsumealkaliandacids,theresultsobtainedindicatetheeffectoftheseextraneousmaterialsinadditiontothesaponifiablematerialpresent.Resultsonproductscontainingsuchmaterials,onusedinternal-combustion-enginecrankcaseoils,andonusedturbineoilsmustbeinterpretedwithcaution.Note2-Thematerialsreferredtoabove,whicharenotnormallyconsideredsaponifiablematter,includeinorganicorcertainorganicacids,mostnonalkalisoaps,andsoforth.Thepresenceofsuchmaterialsincreasesthesaponificationnumberabovethatoffattysaponifiablematerialsforwhichthetestmethodisprimarilyintended.Theodorofhydrogensulfideneartheendoftheback-titrationinthesaponificationtestisanindicationthatcertaintypesofreactivesulfurcompoundsarepresentinthesample.Inthecaseofotherreactivesulfur,chlorine,andphosphoruscompoundsandotherinterferingmaterials,nosimpleindicationisgivenduringthetest.Agravimetricdeterminationoftheactualamountoffattyacidsisprobablythemostreliablemethodforsuchcompounds.TestMethodsD128orIPMethod284/86canbeusedtodeterminefattyacidsgravimetrically.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSections6,7,8,10,15,16,17,and19.
